The Old Mutual Trophy for the Best White Wine overall has gone to DeMorgenzon, whose Reserve Chardonnay 2016 also won the Miele Trophy for the Show’s best Chardonnay and the Old Mutual International Judges’ Trophy at the 2017 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.
The DeMorgenzon Reserve Chardonnay 2016 was also awarded the Stellenbosch Chardonnay Trophy at the recent 2017 International Wine Challenge (IWC) held in the UK.
Last year the DeMorgenzon Chardonnay Reserve 2015 was judged best in the world by the 2016 Decanter World Wine Awards beating wines from Australia, New Zealand, France, America, Argentina, Chile and all other wine producing nations.
With this latest honour, DeMorgenzon has reinforced its position as South Africa’s most acclaimed and awarded white wine producer.
Tastings for the 2017 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show winning wines are scheduled for 8 and 9 June 2017 in Cape Town and Johannesburg respectively.
