GUILD: Collaboration of Craftsman at The Silo

Following the opening of The Yard I decided to venture around the artistic Silo District, home to the famed Zeitz Mocca.

Alongside the recently opened Kat Von Duinen and super stark modern Kirsten Goss store you’ll find a 450 squared space flourishing with talent and locally curated craftsmanship.

Designers and artists include Adam Birch, Andile Dyalvane,Astrid Dahl,Charles Haupt, Cheick Diallo, Conrad Hicks, David Krynauw, Dokter and Misses, Gregor Jenkin, Hamed Ouattara, Jan Bekker, John Vogel, Justine Mahoney, Laurie Wiid van Heerdenand Lionel Smit, Meyer von Wielligh, Madoda Fani and Chuma Maweni, Otto du Plessis, Paco Pakdoustand John Murray, Paco Pakdoust and Conrad Botes, Porky Hefer,and Xandre Kriel.

Elaborating that it will offer a concept-driven experience, selling bespoke items alongside contemporary and limited-edition furniture.

‘In the same spirit with which we hosted GUILD International Design Fair, this permanent space will allow us to hold exhibitions with international galleries, show ground-breaking locally produced pieces before they’re taken to other parts of the world, and offer a more rigorous exhibition programme that will not only premiere the continent’s top design, but also introduce a new stable of artists to the growing followers of this investment category.
