Haute Street Style: ROSEY & VITTORI 25

ROSEY & VITTORI

Established in 2013 with the vision to develop luxe street fashion, designed & manufactured in South Africa.

Rosey & Vittori started as a young man’s passion turned hobby for well made apparel.

Having never studied fashion design, Steve Rosenbaum used his background in brand building and marketing to start Rosey and Vittori.

The brand title derives from a nickname that his forefathers and him picked up over generations at school – a shortened version of his last name, “Rosey. Vittori was his late grandmother’s maiden name – the two titles simply worked. The label was sold in small local boutiques around Cape Town while Rosey studied.

Once he graduated, he took a break from local life and moved to the east coast of America to explore and find inspiration. The following year, with the knowledge and stimulus he gained, he returned to take the label to the next level.

Towards the end of that year, he met Isabella Bisogno, an ex-fashion student. The two connected almost immediately and she joined the label that summer to run the new ladies division, Femme. Since then, Rosey and Vittori have been stocked in YDE stores countrywide, offering both men and ladies Luxe Street apparel produced in Cape Town.

Discussing the range with Sandiso of That Skattie back in 2015 Steven had this to say about what separate his street wear focused label compared to that on the racks currently

“The brand is an extension of ourselves. Our sophisticated colour palette and clean lines set us apart. We aim to design fresh styles that run parallel to those of international trends and not a season behind.” Some of the biggest lessons the creative director says he has learned over the years, running the label, include an awareness that short cuts lead nowhere. “People want you to do well, they just don’t want you to do better than them and honesty will get you further than you might think.”

Taking a lead role in the branding and image of Rosey and Vittori, Steven is focused on the goals ahead stating

“I ensure our company’s point of view, singular vision and personality can be articulated and integrated as much as possible through all touch points . I am blessed enough to have found a head designer who shares a very similar vision and brand outlook.”
