We have a mild obsession with coffee and much like that  12pm text message asking nothing else but “what you up to?” (you know the one, from THOSE boys)

It’s one of the habits that we have a love| hate relationship with. We love the pleasure, strong, dark, whether its short, quick and oh so sweet or a little long, stronger and slow hiting all the right places. Even though it’s enough to make your toes curl- the pain that comes with insomnia until 02h00 after a 14hour day and your mind racing, over thinking everything. You think again, may be time to give it up!

So you think, until a rough 14 hour day hits again, there’s still “no one(cafe) new around you” dinner at Mulberry and Prince runs into all hours of the morning whilst you live up the big city life on the streets of Slaapstad. BAM! There it is again, in the back of your mind. ONE LAST TIME,  to pick you up and lift your spirits.

After the deed there’s nothing more you want to do than share the experience with your friends, get their thoughts, share just how amazing it was (even though you regret it, again) So you snap a pic’ before you swallow and wait for the comments to fly in.

That’s right, we’ve all done it snuck a picture when no ones looking. Holding it, spooning it and even blowing it. Coffee and Instagram go hand in hand don’t you think?

Heres our favourite follows: using the hashtag #ManMakeCoffee

Cronuts, Cupcakes, Croissants, the best things in life start with coffee the letter C

Depak Chopra once said ” Karma is experience, and experience creates memory, and memory creates imagination and desire, and desire creates karma again. If I buy a cup of coffee, that’s karma. I now have that memory that might give me the potential desire for having cappuccino, and I walk into Starbucks, and there’s karma all over again. “

One of our favourites is Deluxe, which we discovered at De Warenmarkt recently in Stellenbosch.

The mother city offers so many great coffee roasteries and cafes filled with yummy treats and not just the barista boys with beards either. You couldn’t go wrong!

Think:

Truth Coffee Roasters | 36 Buitenkant St, Cape Town City Centre

Terbodore | Goederust Farm, La Motte, R45, Franschhoek,

Espresso Lab Microroasters | 375 Albert Rd, Woodstock, Cape Town

Legado Coffee Bar | 19 Quantum Street, Stellenbosch

Bean in LoveMain Street 289 Paarl

We’re not sure if we loved the idea of that strong dark cup of love or maybe dreamt about burning that midnight candle with a night in the forest.
