Adien V Aggenbach told Veggie Bunch this about opening PLANT.

After I relocated back to South Africa from Los Angeles there were really limited vegan options in Cape Town. We had Bella Vegan in Muizenberg and Bolo Boloin Obs but there was no dedicated vegan kitchen serving Cape Town CBD. The objective is to make vegan food more accessible and educate people that vegan food doesn’t have to be boring or difficult to make

Owner and Conscious Plant based diet advocate Adien V Aggenbach posted this at 5pm on August 2nd, 2017

Dear Cape Town,

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the closure of Plant.

Plant has been my passion and an avenue for education about plant based eating and we have shared many magical moments together.

Ultimately, running a restaurant while juggling a full time job has become too much.

My commitment to spreading the message of compassion, education and speaking up for those that can not speak for themselves still stands.

I am going to take some much needed time to regroup, re-energise and then identify a different avenue where we can utilize our experience to make this world a better place.

Thank you for your support and the many fun times we shared at Plant!

Our amazing staff will be looking for work. Please let me know of any openings at restaurants or other opportunities.

“I hate endings. Just detest them. Beginnings are definitely the most exciting, middles are perplexing and endings are a disaster. … The temptation towards resolution, towards wrapping up the package, seems to me a terrible trap. Why not be more honest with the moment? The most authentic endings are the ones which are already revolving towards another beginning. That’s genius.” -Sam Shepard

Sad day for us Hipsters & Herbivores.

So sad to know one of the best plant based restaurants will no longer be. I have faith that there will be a new door opening for you as this one closes. Muizenberg is perfect location for your amazing restaurant majority of the population is vegan/vegetarian and the rent is far lower than the CBD. We will always love, follow and support your Dream, keep spreading the love and light
