Chef Scot is humble about his accomplishments, and is firm about the massive role his team plays in the success of La Colombe. “James Gaag, my head chef, is such a big part of what we do at La Colombe – I cannot think of a better chef to have next to me behind the stove. And then there’s my pastry chef Glen Williams, who is one of the best chefs I have ever worked with.”

This year, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ceremony will take place on June 13th at Cipriani Wall Street, New York.

The Test Kitchen has been named number 22 in the world and the best restaurant in Africa for the 2016 edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by Acqua Panna and S.Pellgrino. It is the only African restaurant to make the top 50, with the next local darling, La Colombe, coming in at number 76. The announcement was made on Monday 13 June in a ceremony in New York.
