Diarise This: Home Is Where The Art Is

During Lockdown the Zeitz MOCAA museum encouraged people from across the Cape to submit their work, a unique opportunity that allowed residents to be part of the curated display. Submissions closed at the beginning of October.

“Since our inception, Capetonians have supported our young institution. This exhibition, which is unprecedented for a major museum, is our way of thanking everyone for their support. It is an invitation to be part of the museum’s ongoing success, particularly as we reopen after a challenging period. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the strength, unity and spirit of individuals throughout this difficult time.”

Koyo Kouoh, Executive Director and Chief Curator at Zeitz MOCAA

“Art is in the eye of the beholder could be the translation of Home Is Where The Art Is,”

“With no hierarchy or selection, this is an opportunity for us to find out what art means to our audience and by the same token, attempting to find out what a museum could stand for in current times.”
