La Boucher Wines, A Hemel and Aarde based winery is under scruitiny over it’s ‘insensitive’ tweet on Sunday Evening.
“All wines matter,” appears to make reference to “All Lives Matter” a slogan used against protestors for the Black Lives Matter movement.
A movement which campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people. Black Lives Matter is an international human rights movement, originating from within the African American community.
Refuelled by the gruesome death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for over 8 minutes.
All Wines Matter Apology
We apologise for any messages on our page that might have hurt or offended anybody. Please know that it is never our intention to hurt or offend. We immediately removed the content once we noted that it was negatively perceived.
The above was posted on the La Boucher Wines Twitter account.
Many on social media were aggrieved by the wording and perceived insincerity due to the choice of grammar used.
‘It wasn’t “negatively perceived”; it was offensive and irresponsible from the get-go.”
But you see you aren’t sorry! You don’t even know why it is, what you said, that was so beyond tone deaf. Even your apology reeks of insincerity. You’re only sorry because of the outcry.
