House Tour X H&M Home | Evelina Kravaev Söderberg

Evelina Kravaev Söderberg (H&M Home’s head of design) lives in an apartment in central Stockholm with her family.

This year makes 18 years that they’ve lived here it and they have no plans to move “whatsoever!

WHAT’S YOUR BEST ADVICE WHEN IT COMES TO DECORATING A HOME?

“I love empty rooms and clean spaces. Start off with a fresh coat of paint on the walls and make sure the floors are in good condition. Then, only bring things you really like and perhaps even have a personal connection to. One of the most important things when it comes to decorating is time – to let it take time instead of placing furniture and things everywhere from day one. Live in the apartment and decorate as you go!”

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE SPOT?

“Yes, the bedroom. I love mixing it up by often changing the beddings, quilts and cushions. This is where you’ll find me at weekends; eating breakfast, browsing the internet and cuddling with my cat and kids. I love neutral colours and natural materials, so you won’t find a lot of multi-coloured items in the bedroom – or anywhere else.”

CAN YOU NAME ONE THING (ONE ITEM!) THAT YOU VALUE THE MOST IN YOUR APARTMENT?

“I can’t mention just one, but my paintings are definitely my favourite possessions. My interest in art has escalated over the years and it’s hard to choose just one of them. My aunt is a painter and I have a few of her works at home, so they are the ones I keep closest to my heart.”

WHAT PIECE OF FURNITURE WOULD YOU NEVER ALLOW INTO YOUR HOME?

“I really don’t like big electronic sets. I wouldn’t have a giant television in my home. I like furniture and paintings, not devices. I don’t like household appliances either but it’s hard not to have them… ha ha.”
