Executive chef at Leeu Collection’s Le Quartier Français and The Tasting Room, Margot Janse, has resigned after 21 years of excellent service.
Well-known for her African-inspired cuisine, Margot will leave her current employment on April 29th 2017.
Margot has been the inspiration at the helm of The Tasting Room for the past 12 years, building it into one of the most celebrated restaurants in South Africa.
Says Analjit Singh, aka BAS, founder of Leeu Collection, “We would like to thank Margot for her service and wish her well in her future endeavours. It is business as usual and we will announce more details about Margot’s replacement and the way forward to ensure the continuity and success of The Tasting Room in due course.
Chef Magot confirms her resignation and has had this to say about her journey ahead ” “I have resigned, ending my LQF journey on 29 April 2017. It has been a very difficult decision but one that has grown over time. It is time for a new chapter. My culinary evolution has been an incredible one, shared with and supported by amazing teams, these past 21 years. My heart is obviously heavy and I am going to miss my special LQF family incredibly. I have decided to take some time out, with no immediate future plans. I’m going to have fun with my son Thomas, contemplating the contents of my next adventures.”
