Look Inside: B&G by Singita

Singita is committed to providing guests with an unforgettable experience and is thus revamping its boutique and gallery (B&G) model to reflect Africa’s rising cultural profile.

Singita Sabi Sand tested an art gallery space earlier this year, and Singita Kruger National Park will launch its own gallery in July 2022.
Works by established and up-and-coming artists from Africa are on display in this carefully chosen exhibition of modern African art and collectibles.

In keeping with Singita’s 100-year objective, the reimagined B&G idea also has a fundraising component meant to raise awareness about important issues and initiatives in all four areas.

Artists who participate in the program share a commitment to protecting Africa’s animals and wilderness, and their work will not only serve as a visual representation of the continent’s stunning natural landscapes but will also help to fund efforts to protect them.

To fulfill its mission of helping communities flourish, Singita will donate a portion of the revenues from the sale to the Singita Lowveld Trust, which provides financial assistance to micro, small, and medium businesses in South Africa.

A painting by the award-winning Athi-Patra Ruga will take pride of position in the new gallery at Singita Kruger National Park, further elevating the status of African art thanks to the participation of such famous artists.

Singita will urge attendees to get up close and personal with the pieces, learning about their context and the artists who created them, in an effort to increase the visibility and esteem with which African art is held across the globe. Activations such as artist residencies and auctions will also be added in time.
