The Y scent from YSL Beauté was launched in 2017 and has now received a new rock superstar Lenny Kravitz. Turning Yves Saint Laurent’s initial letter into a question, Y, the scent is aimed at “an experimenter and a creative that will never cease to ask itself: Why not?”
The Y is inspired by the classic white Yves Saint-Laurent T-shirt and black jacket created by Master Perfumer Dominique Ropion.
Everything he does, the guy with Y Le Parfum is a rock star. A spirit of freedom. Intensely autonomous. I never frightened of contesting the situation. After all, why not?
He does not care what people think of him. Never frightened to explore; always ready to take risks and make surprising decisions. He’ll keep believing and pressing on – that’s because that’s Y.
Y bottled up that rock star’s energy and captured it. Cut in half by a Y-shaped notch, the perfume bottle is massive, weighty, and luxurious. The distinct edges of the sharp blade are achieved by a dramatic dark black fade-out that transitions to transparent glass. As a totem, it is a testament to modernism and innovation, which may inspire and help you feel strong.
Top notes: grapefruit, apple accord, ginger, aldehydes
Heart: sage, lavender essence, geranium absolute
Base: cedar, olibanum, tonka, patchouli essence
This scent has fresh citrus notes and aromatic notes intertwined with woods that possess a deeper depth of sensual woods. This gives a sense of the Y man’s complex personality features.
