Summer Wishlist: 5 holiday retreats and activities for Summer 7

Working in hospitality means the chances of me “holidaying” are unlike my waist line, slim!

However a boy can dream, create a list and as they say, the rest is power of attraction.

I’ve just quit gym and have decided to become more of an adventure seeker and discover more of our local outdoor beauty. Having recently hiked the Mont Rochelle “Perdekop” trail in Franschhoek and stumbling upon an inaccessible waterfall I have been on the hunt to find one near by.

Glamping with Hey pioneer

For the longest time I’ve wanted to go camping, and whilst I consider myself still quite manly in my conviction (and adventures) I like to play the “but I’m gay **broken wrists**” card once in a while and when it comes to Camping, that card is definitely larger and made from pink glitter and is covered in unicorns and rainbows.

Enter the Glamping Pros-Hey Pioneer.

From what I can tell you can hire all the camping things one would need ( Don’t ask me what those are-i got as far as listing 1. tent and decided nope re-write this paragraph) or you can get the to do it for you on one of their “Glamping Events” which i have mailed for more in for on and will update this post ASAP.

Getting Lost with the Morukuru Family

I am between two minds in summer. I love the idea of travelling to be near water and given that i am surrounded by majestic mountains and lush vineyards 295 days of the year it only makes sense that i escape wine country for the City or Sea. That being said, i love the country and The Morukuru “family” a portfolio of accommodation offer two beautiful options seaside in De Hoop Nature Reserve or in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve with their “Farm House” accommodation. Lapped in luxury, beautiful views and stunning decor making it even more difficult to decide!

Quad Bike Safaris in the Kagga Kamma Reserve

Helen Keller once proclaimed that life is either a daring adventure or nothing. What could be more exhilarating that racing through mud puddles and up treacherous terrain of the Cederberg Mountains.

The Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve also has a variety of unique accommodation to choose from and offers nature lovers a chance to experience spectacular scenery, dramatic rock formations, rich and fascinating cultural heritage, ancient rock art sites, amazing indigenous fauna and flora and phenomenal night skies.
